BNI (Business Networking International) is the longest-established, most successful networking organization of its kind. Members come to know and trust each other, building long term relationships to grow their careers. Those working in similar fields develop industry-related “power spheres” to leverage their skills and create more business together. The ideas behind the established networking platform have been tweaked and improved for over 30 years and are extremely successful. An important distinction from other networking organizations is that each seat in a BNI Chapter represents an individual profession and there is no overlap.
What Makes Manhattan Chapter 64 Different?
Manhattan Chapter 64 is one of the most successful BNI Chapters in the nation. It is comprised of approximately 40 high-energy, super-motivated business professionals who understand, embrace, and live by the teachings of BNI and the concept of “Givers Gain”. Members benefit from having a solid team of networking partners, each of whom has made a commitment to help one another grow their business. The value of the personal relationships that grow in such an environment cannot be overstated.
Chapter Members in the same industry meet together to brainstorm shared marketing efforts and collaborations.
From Happy Hours to golf outings, we don’t ignore the social component of networking either.
With $3M in closed business in the most recent annual period, we’re setting our goals even higher next year!
We always recognize closed business and stand ready to support our members!
BNI provides a positive, supportive, and structured environment for the development and exchange of quality business referrals. It does so by helping you build personal relationships with dozens of other qualified business professionals.
Last year, members of BNI passed millions of referrals that generated billions of dollars of business for each other. Belonging to BNI is like having dozens of salespeople representing your business, and in return you are representing their businesses. What goes around comes around. If I help you, you’ll help me and we will both benefit as a result.
Networking requires commitment. The most successful chapters of BNI are comprised of participants who are sincerely committed to helping one another through networking. They are a team. As a participant in BNI, you are responsible for complying with the policies and guidelines of the organization.

With over 270,000 businesses around the world, BNI is the world’s largest networking organization designed to build relationships and generate sales through mutual referrals.
Our goal is to help you grow your business. BNI is a business-building system predicated on business leaders meeting each week in chapters that help members generate qualified client referrals, promote on-going professional development, and foster lifelong relationships.
We only take one person per professional specialty. So if you are a photographer and we already have one, we can refer you to another chapter, or allow you to open another chapter.
Our application asks for references and we have a membership committee that checks them. It’s referral marketing, so before they even come to a meeting, prospects have spoken to someone or been invited. Everyone has to have a sponsor, or one is assigned to them.
A typical BNI chapter will have between 15 – 30 members, though the largest chapters can have 80 or more.
Members are encouraged to bring visitors for those professions which are open in the chapter.
BNI requires its members to uphold the rules of their profession so as not to violate the professional’s ethical obligations. In the event that BNI’s general rules violate a professional’s ethical code, BNI’s rules are superseded by the professional’s code of ethics. A primary objective of BNI is to educate its membership in ways to market and grow their business. It is BNI’s intent to ensure that this is permitted.
If a member represents the chapter poorly, we have an ethics committee that reviews any complaint. It is imperative that anyone who gives a lead and finds out it was not satisfactorily handled must report that to the membership committee.
